March has proceeded as we expected with the traditionally modest property sales activity that marks the beginning of the year. House prices in both Stirling and Clackmannanshire are higher than they were at the start of last year which we hope will encourage more sellers to put their properties on the market.

The rental market remains challenging with a continuing shortage in the supply of accommodation. The Scottish Government rent cap, introduced in 2022, ends at the end of this month, allowing landlords to increase rent based on the open market rate within specific guidelines. It is yet to be seen if this will increase the number of properties available for rent.

As we move into Spring, we are looking forward to a resurgence in activity, with signs of gradual reductions in mortgage rates potentially unlocking the accumulated demand for home relocations.
